West Virginia State Fair 2011

Welcome to The West Virginia State Fair 2011. Lots of animals,
lots of crazies and lost of fun!

I LOVE THIS PICTURE! Cute piggy sticking his tongue out at me!

The wonderful process of making the best cinnamon rolls ever!
Mmmmmmm butter...

Mary had a little goat.... :)

What would be a fair without a deep fried Snickers bar?

Spencer loved it. One bite was about all I could handle.

Join us next year for a true West Virginian adventure!

Page Valley Road Race

Spencer signed up for a bike race in Page Valley, Virginia. Our friends Brandon and Laura Strawn/Grube joined me in watching Spencer. He did really well and we had a good time!

This first picture is blurry but You can seen Spencer with his arm out waving to us!

Brandon and Laura waiting at the finish line.

Here comes Spencer...YOU'RE ALMOST THERE!

PUSH SPUD! PUSH!

I am dumb and did not get a picture at the finish line, but just imagine
him crossing it about 50 yards from the last picture...

After the race we ate at this great little breakfast place in Luray, VA.
It is called Uncle Buck's. Spencer bought a shirt there that
says, "Uncle Buck's Meat is Hard to Beat!" It's pretty hilarious.

After breakfast we made our way to the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia.
It was a beautiful day but it sure was HUMID!

This is Spencer and I at the top of Little Stoney Man.

This is Laura and me entering the Jungle...

Can you see the fog?

That sign says that where we are standing is the highest point on the

Virginia Highlands Section of the Appalachian Trail.

Brandon taking over the clouds

We had to show proof that we did actually hike on THE Appalachian Trail. This white mark is the blaze that shows the trail for the whole Appalachian Trail which is 2,181 miles.

And this is a crazy, giant...nasty millipede.

Our drive out was very foggy.

Greenbrier Classic Concerts

There were three concerts this year for the Greenbrier Classic. The three artists that came were Tim McGraw, The Black Eyed Peas, and Keith Urban.

The first night we babysat for our friends the Sorber's while they went to the Tim McGraw concert but we could hear the music from their deck and we danced the night away.

The next night was The Black Eyed Peas concert. A friend gave me a couple of tickets and since Spencer would have rather stuck himself in the eyes with pencils I took my friend Ashly. We had a good time, but it was honestly the worst concert I had ever been to. At least I didn't pay for the tickets right?

The third night was AMAZING Keith Urban. He is a crazy good guitarist. Spencer was even impressed...and that's sayin somethin. He was so fun to watch. During the concert he went down into the crowd twice. One of those times he walked all the way up the grassy hill to the cheap seats and signed then gave away his electric guitar to some little kid! He also pulled three people up on stage to sing with him. We had so much fun. He are some pics! They aren't the best because I took them with my iPhone and I don't have a flash but it is better than nothing!

This is a little video of Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert singing

"Take Me Home, Country Roads!"

Greenbrier Classic 2011

My boss is awesome and got us tickets to The Greenbrier Classic this year. It was the first (and probably only) professional golf tournament we will ever go to. It was pretty sweet.

First of all we met Daniel Summerhays. He is from Farmington, Utah. He came to our church the Sunday before the tournament. He is a pretty awesome guy. It was cool to be able to talk to a pro up close and personal. Unfortunately he didn't make the cut.

When we first got there we found these guys writing on the old timey leader board.

I decided I wanted this guy, Trevor Immelman to take it all. On one of the holes he hit his ball really close to us and was very polite and had a cool South African accent.....so I decided I like him.

This is Hall of Fame Pro Golfer Tom Watson. He has won many tournaments

in his day and didn't do too shabby at this classic.

And then there was PHIL MICKELSON!!!
There were tons of people following him around of course but

we still got pretty close to him. It was awesome!

Good Old Lefty....

He almost hit us with his tee shot! That is how we were so close

when he had to hit out of the rough.

We had a blast! Who knew by moving out to West Virginia

we would end up going to a Pro Golf Tournament?

Summer 2011

We had a blast this summer! In June Spencer was able to spend 2 weeks in New Mexico with his awesome uncle and aunt, Steve and Caryn. Steve set him up with a doctor to shadow. Spencer really enjoyed it and learned A LOT! He was able to spend time with the family and whenever he was home he had a cute little companion, Emily.

The beginning of my trip was not as fun as Spencer's. My flight kept getting delayed so I got to spend the night in the Atlanta, Georgia airport. This was my bed...

After 2 LONG weeks we met up in Utah! Spencer picked me up from the SLC Airport and we head straight up to Sun Valley where we spent the week with the McConkie Family!

We spent some time at Red Fish Lake. It was beautiful but the water was freezing. The kids didn't mind though!

Cute Annie did some drawings for us!

Little Eli just being a boy...

We spent a day at the pool. Annie was showing us her awesome swimming skills.

Tyler was "helping" Sam swim.

Molly and Grace had so much fun!

Here is Dave and cute little Kate!

Kate let me hang out with her a little bit too.

Before we left I had to race Dave in the pool. I won but I guess it wasn't too fair since he has one less toe than me... ha ha

After Sun Valley we spent the 4th of July weekend in Samak, Utah with the Tingey's. We also were able to enjoy the Oakley, Utah Rodeo! We loved hanging out in Utah with all of our friends and family!

The Cabin was awesome! It was so relaxing.

Spencer missed his dogs!

We definitely got some hiking in. The water was the highest I have ever seen it! I love the Uintas! They are so beautiful!

We ate well....very well.

We got to play the golf ball game!

A great Tingey tradition.

And then there was....The Perfect Mallow...

We had such a great time in Utah! We love our family so much and are so excited when we get to see them!

When we got back from Utah Spencer signed up for a bike race in Blacksburg, Virginia but we found out the night before we left that it was cancelled, so because we had a nonrefundable hotel room we decided to take the trip! We checked out Virginia Tech's campus (which is beautiful) and did some golfing!

It was an awesome summer!!!
