We went to the U of U vs. Pitt football game at Heinz Field
with Dan, Brittany, Kirshell, and Jason.
THE UTES WON!!

Broth flew out for the game too!

Before the 4th quarter...

During the 4th quarter...ha ha
GO UTES!

It was a beautiful day in the City of Bridges!

The next day we had the opportunity to visit the grounds
of Flight 93 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
It was really cool to learn more about the brave
people of that flight.

We got to spend some one on one time with cute little Eli!

Molly LOVES nature!

It was so fun to hang out with Dan, Brit, and their cute kids!

Lindsay and Nick Came to Visit!!

Nick and Lindsay came to visit us in good ole WV!
We had a lot of fun! We ate, shopped, ate, played
frisbee golf, ate and oh ya, played golf at the oldest
golf course in America!
Oakhurst Links is the oldest golf course in America
and it was made right near us in White Sulphur Springs, WV.

Each player is only allowed to play with hickory shaft clubs,
which the club provides. Also you can only play with
gutta percha balls.
Instead of using tees like we use today you make your own tee
out of sand and water.

The rough is literally ROUGH! They give you two balls to play with
and it is SUPER easy to lose them.

The hickory shaft clubs are great! We each received a spoon (driver),
mashie (long iron), niblick (wedge), and a putter. My favorite
was the niblick.

The course is tucked away in the West Virginia hills so it is beautiful!

We always seem to find crazy spiders everywhere we go...

We each were given a towel to wipe our hands
after we made our sand tees.
Ha ha...towel bums...

At the end of every round they give you fresh lemonade and cookies,
just like the good old days. They also give you a tour of the little museum there.
It is way awesome.

We had a great time!

Taste of Our Town 2011

This year at Taste of our Town (TooT) we had some good times
and some great food! There were lots of people that came out for the event.

"Leather Pant Man" as we call him, joined in on the festivities as well!

We had so much good food! My favorite dessert is
Stardust's Sticky Toffee Pudding...so good I had it twice...

This pulled pork sandwich was one of the best I have ever tasted!

And you have got to try the Greenbrier Resort peaches and cream.
They grow their own peaches!!
It's fantastic!

Best nachos EVER!

Mmmmmm shish kabob

TooT is one of our favorite festivals in West Virginia because...
WE LOVE FOOD!

Labor Day Weekend 2011

Spencer and I went backpacking to Dragon's Tooth over Labor Day Weekend. A lot of the hike was on the Appalachian Trail (AT.) It was beautiful, humid, hot....and so much fun!

About half of the trail was like this. Not so bad if you don't have a full backpack.

I struggle with balance

The view from Dragon's Tooth was amazing!

Say hello to my little friend.... Sadly this was not the only one we saw...

This little guy was not afraid of us AT ALL! We call him Blue (creative I know)

One may ask why did we decided to sleep on a rock? Remember that spider? It was either this or crazy amounts of leaves with crazy amount of spiders sleeping under us. We chose rock.

Plus the view was amazing!

This is the Appalachian Trail blaze. These kept us from going off track many a times.
