Birthdays 2011

So I am pretty awful at this whole blogging thing but it is my goal to get better!
I know that mine and Spencer's birthdays are a couple of months apart but...oh well.

Here we go!!!!

First of all it was Spencer's Birthday on January 23. His birthday was the day before a big exam so we just had a small party first with our friends the Sorber's.

Kathryn Sorber is an awesome cake baker and decorator and she made this University of Utah cake for Spencer. It tasted as good as it looks! Mmmmmmmm.....

We then had a bigger party with the rest of the people that were actually studying on Spencer's birthday. It is the WVSOM class of 2014 tradition to have Fun Fetti Cake at each persons birthday party. It is ALWAYS very tasty.

Everyone was so nice to celebrate this day with us! We were joined by.....

Jason, Shaylee and Zoey Hyde

Eric, Joy and Olivia Boggess

Steve, Chelsea, AnnaLee (not shown) and now Tavian Boehmier.

and last but not least Brandon and Laura Strawn/Grube. ;)

We had a fun day and I think Spencer enjoyed his 27th Birthday!

My Golden Birthday was on April 24 (Easter this year)

I woke up to Easter baskets and birthday presents! It was awesome!

We had some friends over for Fun Fetti Cake and ice cream. It was lots of fun!

Yay for Birthdays!!!!!

Chirstmas 2010

Our Chirstmas Tree!!! Just the beginning of the Perfect Christmas of 2010!

My first Ginger Bread House! Whoopty Whoop! Spencer was a very good coach. It was good times!

Well we had quite the Chirstmas vaction this year! Right after we got to back to the best state ever, we had the traditional Tingey Progressive Dinner. It was so much fun! We missed our cute missionaries, Sid and Liz's family and Val, but we rang our bells hard for them.

We also went to a McConkie family party but McConkies are pretty awesome and we don't like to take pictures. We don't want everyone knowing our little secrets I guess. Anywho... we had dinner and went and saw the lights at The Hogle Zoo. It was fun to be with all of the kids! We miss them so much!

We had the pleasure of spending Christmas Eve with the McConkies and Chiristmas Morning with the Tingeys. Again McConkies don't want you to know our secrets. This is the traditional Tingey Pajama Chirstmas Photo.

We were able to go to a Jazz Game while in Utah! GO JAZZ! They were bums and lost but oh well. GO JAZZ!

While Spencer was playing Call of Duty with his friends from his old ward I was hanging out with my best friends! Our group is so fun and awesome.

We also did some ice fishing at Scofield Resevoir with Rachel and Tyler. It was so much fun. I was nervous about the whole drilling holes in ice while standing on the ice but it worked out ok. We caught about 12 fish. Now when I say we I mean Rachel, Tyler and Spencer. I caught one right before we left, off of Rachel's line....I think the fish felt my frustration.

On New Year's Eve we went to The Market Street Oyster Bar and tried our first oyster shots. I like them and AMAZINGLY Spencer did too. All who know him would be very impressed with his growth in West Virginia. HE EATS SALADS!!!! I know that has nothing to do with Christmas or New Years Eve but I had to add that in. My mind is still boggled.....anyways... We ate oysters and they were tasty.

We woke up the next morning to this little monster in our bed.

Yay for the traditional burning of the tree! Thanks to all of the Tingey neighbors for not calling the cops!

While we were in Utah my dear grandmother, Beth Merrill McConkie, passed away. She was 92 almost 93 years old and one of the most amazing people I have ever met. She was such a sweetheart and I miss her so much! I know she is so much happier now!

That was Christmas for us! Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

West Virginia Adventures

Spencer and I, mostly I, have decided to start a blog so everyone can see what fun adventures we are having living in good ole' West Virginia!

We took a long trek across the country with everything we own and have made our home here in Lewisburg, West Virginia.

It took us 3 and a 1/2 days to get here, driving about 10 hours a day. It was nice to have Shelly and Teri Lyn along for the drive and we really appreciated their help.

Spencer started school right away at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. He loves it! He is doing awesome. I am really proud of my Student Dr. Tingey (that's what he calls himself). I started a job as a dental assistant for Greenbrier Valley Pediatric Dentistry. I love it there! I work with the kindest people I have ever met.

In August we went to the West Virginia State Fair, which is huge! Businesses around here will close the week of the fair because everyone in the town is there all of the time. We went with our awesome friends the Boggess's (right), the Hyde's, and the Sorbers! We had a blast! We ate everything from corn dogs, to cinnamon rolls, to funnel cakes, to gyros, to deep fried Snickers Bars. And that isn't everything...let's just say we ate a lot.

At the end of August we went to the Virginia Beach area with The Hyde's. We had such a good time.

We swam in the Atlantic Ocean for the first time. It was so warm, I couldn't even believe it. We swam the day after the hurricane hit that area. The waves were pretty awesome.

In September we had Spencer's white coat ceremony. Tony and Shelly Tingey came out to enjoy the fun occasion.

At the end of September Spencer and I went to Washington D.C. to go to a Braves vs. Nationals baseball game, which was tons of fun, and THE BRAVES WON, which made it even more fun!

In October our Bishop invited us to run The Gauley River with him. Well, Spencer had an exam, but I went. It was pretty awesome. This river is one of the top 5 rivers in the U.S. to run. I was terrified for my life, but I had a blast.

At the end of the month we had a Halloween party at the church. It was fun! I was a cowgirl and Spencer was...well...Spencer. The primary president asked me and the YW to teach the ward our own version of The Monster Mash. I was red as a beet but oh well.

All of this time I had been training to run a half marathon. Well I actually did it! I was so proud of myself! I trained with my friends Nativia, Shaylee and Joy. It was a great accomplishment for all of us and I was excited to be able to share that experience with them.

My Mom, Dad, Rachel, and Tyler came out to visit for Thanksgiving. It was a great week! We just relaxed, ate, ate and relaxed! It was fantastic! We showed them around at The Greenbrier Resort and had some falconry lessons.

Well that is the semester update! Sorry it is like a novel but I wanted to catch everybody up on our West Virginia Adventures!
